The proprietors at Health Harmonies studio in Newmarket are proud of the care they provide to their clients. Three years ago, sisters Jackie and Kim Sartor started offering therapy sessions on Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) mats. Since then, they have changed locations three times in order to accommodate increasing demand for the therapy.
The PEMF mat works by emitting a magnetic charge that closely mimics the earth’s own magnetic field. Each user programs the control box to address their specific health problem, and then lays down on the mat for a period of 15 minutes to half an hour. When the body’s cells become charged with the same vibration as the earth’s magnetic field, as happens through pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, they become optimized so that they can do their job and help to heal the body. This allows the cells to take in oxygen and nutrients, and to release carbon dioxide and toxins.
Kim Sartor was diagnosed 20 years ago, at age 27, with an auto-immune disease called Sarcoidosis. Then she had a car accident in 2007 that caused bulging discs in her lower back and neck. That same year, she underwent laser treatments for glaucoma. In 2012, she was diagnosed with asthma and prescribed 50 milligrams of prednisone, two puffers, ventalin, and symbicort. Then she was introduced to pulsed electromagnetic field therapy by a former co-worker. After a series of sessions on the PEMF mat, her symptoms subsided to the extent that she able to stop taking the medications. To her amazement, her test results all came back ‘normal’ (i.e. no more back pain, wheezing, asthma attacks, or eye problems).
Today, Kim is dedicated to educating people on the scope of harm caused by manmade electromagnetic fields such as those generated by cell phones and wifi, and on how to protect oneself from these invisible waves. In addition to PEMF therapy, the studio offers home assessments of “dirty electricity.” She uses a Geiger meter to measure the radiation and electromagnetic field exposure radiating from clock radios, portable phones, cell phones, etc.[1]
With our modern lifestyles, there exists a two-fold problem: A) In today’s society, we do not get enough contact with the earth’s magnetic field due to a number of factors which include rubber-soled shoes, rubber tires, and living on concrete and in high rise buildings.
B) The second problem is our exposure to a multitude of man-made frequencies. For example, a cell phone generates between 580 and 700 mhz. Our bodies operate at only 30 hz, and electricity at 60 hz; this means that high frequencies are surrounding and bombarding our bodies’ electromagnetic fields all day long.

Health Harmonies is endorsed by former NHL’er and current lifestyle training coach, Gary Roberts, who has integrated PEMF into his training protocols.
