Black Pineapple Smoothie

From the Vitality Food Feature ‘SMOOTH SUMMER SIPPING‘.

Using frozen fruit in smoothies makes them thicker. You may need to add more juice if all frozen fruit is used in this drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup blackberries or chopped pineapple
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1 Tbsp chopped parsley*

1) Measure pineapple juice, lemon juice, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and parsley into the blender jug. Place lid securely on jug and blend at low speed for 30 seconds then gradually incre ase speed and blend another 30 seconds or until smooth. Serves 3

2) *In pregnancy, limit parsley intake to 1/2 tsp (2 mL) dried herb or a sprig of fresh herb per day. Parsley is not to be taken in kidney inflammation.
