Woodford Files – On Counting Our Blessings; Making Chutney; Miracles on Tour; and Saying Farewell to Dr. Jozef Krop

As we stroll amidst the snowflakes that herald winter’s arrival, it’s a good time to give thanks for the blessings this year has brought us.

Here at Vitality, we are very thankful for the advertisers who offer their wonderful services and products to our audience year-round. The holiday season is a great time to support these Canadian practitioners and companies by checking out their healthy products and gift certificates, booking treatments for yourself and loved ones, or just sending holiday greetings. No doubt they will appreciate any gesture you offer. Without our supporters Vitality wouldn’t be here, so we encourage you to reach out to them.

Speaking of the holidays, if you’re in the mood to make some budget-friendly homemade gifts, take a look at Pat Crocker’s “Gifts from the Kitchen” in this month’s newsletter. Here we find recipes for Lemon Chutney, Mediterranean Pesto, and even Chocolate Mousse. These lip-smacking gifts will be well received no matter who gets them!

And if you feel like reading a story with a happy ending, check out Shawn Buckley’s “Three Miracles on the Health Charter Tour.” On October 4, Shawn Buckley and the NHPPA crew started their journey on the west coast and wound their way across Canada for 3 weeks. Arriving in Ottawa on October 25, the Health Charter Tour delivered a Health Freedom Petition, containing over 150,000 signatures, to MP Blaine Calkins ahead of its parliamentary vote. During the tour there were small miracles that occurred which led them to believe that divine guidance was at work.

Speaking of health freedom, we are very sad to bring you news of the death of a fierce freedom fighter, Dr. Jozef Krop. A beloved member of the natural health community, Dr. Krop died on November 28th at the age of 82, surrounded by family and his new favourite dog. Needless to say, this is a great loss for the community and it’s hard to express in just a few short words the magnitude of our grief and appreciation for his valuable work as an environmental physician.  So Helke Ferrie, one of our senior writers, has offered to write an extended obituary in honour of Dr. Krop, which will be published as a 3-part series starting in Vitality’s January newsletter. Those who wish to express condolences can post a comment down below, or wait to post a comment on his obituary in January.

Update: Funeral services for Dr. Krop are planned for Dec. 15 in Mississauga. Meantime, whenever you’re ready to get away from it all, check out Zoltan Rona’s latest column on “19 Tips to Stay Healthy on a Tropical Vacation.” From basic tips on hygiene, to recommended vitamins and probiotics, to herbs for healing traveller’s ills, this is a handy guide for anyone heading south.

Have a great holiday season and we’ll see you in January. PS - Don't forget that you can post comments or questions on any article you find on our website, and there's a good chance the writer will respond. And if you want more Vitality, you can follow us on X at https://x.com/VitalityOnline
