Kaizen Naturals Protein Products Now Have Eco-Friendly Packaging
Kaizen Naturals protein products, the cleanest proteins on the market, now feature industry-leading, eco-friendly packaging and labelling. The Winning Combination, a Canadian-based producer of health products and nutritional supplements, is once again stepping up its environmental commitment. They have recently unveiled new packaging for their Kaizen natural protein products, using recycled sources.
The move reinforces the company’s pledge to provide consumers with the cleanest, most natural options, both in terms of its formulas and its packaging. The new Kaizen protein bottles contain 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, and are 100% recyclable. The labels are made using Forest Stewardship Council-(FSC) certified paper and plant-based inks. The new packaging replaces the brand’s familiar cardboard-like bottles.
Meeting consumers’ sustainability mandates: “No new plastics are required to make our PCR protein bottles, which helps to conserve energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and preserve the environment,” says Shazad Bukhari, CEO of The Winning Combination. “Our use of FSC-certified paper means the timber is monitored for its point of origin, responsible harvesting, and replanting to help maintain the ecology, integrity, and longevity of the forests used.”
The new 100% PCR protein bottles currently available are:
- Kaizen Naturals Whey Concentrate: vanilla, chocolate, orange, strawberry, cinnamon bun, caramel chocolate chip and unflavoured
- Kaizen Naturals Whey Isolate: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and unflavoured
- Kaizen Naturals Vegan Protein: vanilla and chocolate
The company plans to transition the entire Kaizen product line-up to 100% PCR bottles this year. Kaizen brand carries the NSF International Certification: In December 2015, the company announced that its Kaizen Naturals Whey Concentrates and Whey Isolates, sold in Canada, received certification from NSF International. This confirms compliance with the only American National Standard (NSF/ANSI 173) that establishes requirements for the quality and purity of ingredients in dietary and nutritional supplements.
“The NSF International Certification represents the gold standard in the nutrition industry, providing consumers with assurance as to the accuracy and purity of nutritional supplements,” explains Bukhari. “As one of Canada’s largest manufacturers of natural health products and sports supplements, The Winning Combination maintains robust quality and compliance standards, including an in-house quality control laboratory, now further strengthened with NSF International Certification.”
The Winning Combination is a highly integrated manufacturing company, from its raw material procurement to its quality assurance testing which ensures there is no contamination or degradation once their formula blends are bottled. The Winning Combination’s Winnipeg, Canada manufacturing facility is also a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Facility, registered by NSF International. Earning GMP registration from NSF International verifies The Winning Combination’s facility has the proper methods, equipment, facilities and controls in place for producing dietary supplement products.
