Public Demands Better Testing and Treatment for World’s Fastest Proliferating DiseaseOne could say the chickens are coming home to roost,” observed Barry Meier, author of Pain Killer: An Empire of Deceit and the Origin of America’s Opioid Epidemic, on a recent episode of CBC’s “Day 6”

Indeed, there are many flocks of chickens coming home to roost these days as investigations, discoveries, and lawsuits uncover dark truths about how government, science, and corporations have forsaken us. Of special interest here are the shenanigans that affect public health on a large scale.

1) OXYCONTIN LAWSUITS: On September 11, 2019, it was reported that drug-maker Purdue Pharma had reached a tentative multibillion dollar agreement in the U.S. to settle over 2,000 lawsuits against it. “The firm, owned by the billionaire Sackler family, is accused of helping fuel the U.S. opioid crisis through drugs like painkiller OxyContin.” ( By September 16 they had declared bankruptcy as the legal cases piled up beyond their ability to pay for if won.

2) ROUNDUP HERBICIDE LAWSUITS: Lawsuits involving Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide (identified by the International Agency for Research in Cancer in 2015 as a human-made carcinogen), have yielded court settlements in the billions of dollars. At last count, 17 countries, including the European Union, have banned Roundup and the crops that depend on it for germination.[1 – 4]

3) FLUORIDE LAWSUIT: Claims by health authorities regarding fluoride’s alleged health benefits have been exposed as lies after multiple studies proved that it causes brain damage, harms fetal brain development, impairs memory and learning, and causes neurological deficits. The Fluoride Action Network (FAN) was among a coalition of environmental, medical, and health groups that sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2018 to ban water fluoridation. FAN has recently won two major legal victories, defeating efforts by the EPA to dismiss the case and limit the evidence that can be considered.

Fluoride is an endocrine-disrupting chemical linked to thyroid disease, impaired memory, attention-deficit hyperactive disorder, and lowered IQ in children. A long-term study sponsored by the U.S. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences found a correlation between fluoride exposure in utero and subsequent reductions in cognitive function. As the level of fluoride increased, IQ decreased – across the full range of exposures – which means there’s no level at which there is no detrimental effect on cognition; it’s only a matter of degree.[5] Fluoride and mercury also reduce B12 liver reserves, and are especially dangerous for Lyme patients exposed to it in drinking water or toothpaste. (And no – you don’t want your kids to have the fluoride rinse in school, or use fluoridated toothpaste.)

4) LYME DISEASE EPIDEMIC: There is currently an epidemic unfolding in North America, mostly due to bites from Lyme-infected mosquitoes as well as ticks carried by deer and birds. Where did all this begin? The true origins of the Lyme disease epidemic are now coming to light thanks to the publication of Bitten, a new book by Chris Newby. A survivor of seven years with Lyme disease, Newby is also the co-creator of the famous Lyme documentary Under Our Skin, and a new follow-up documentary Emergence (to be screened by Dr. Jozef Krop at the Whole Life Expo on Sunday, Nov. 10). [6] (Ed note: To purchase an audio recording of Dr. Krop’s presentation, email:

Newby’s book is based on declassified U.S. government reports, as well as interviews with Willi Burgdorfer, an American scientist who was considered an international leader in the field of medical entomology. He discovered the bacterial pathogen that causes Lyme disease, a spirochete later named Borrelia burgdorferi in his honour. He was also the scientist who researched the effectiveness of Lyme disease as a biological weapon.

Lyme Disease as a Biological Weapon

After he died in 2014, a five-year freedom-of-information battle for the Burgdorfer papers ensued. What they ultimately revealed was that artificially altered Lyme ticks had been experimentally and/or accidentally let loose on the American public to test their effectiveness as biological weapons by the government of the time. (As a result of Newby’s book, the U.S. Congress has initiated an investigation of the Pentagon’s role in the dissemination of Lyme as a biological weapon through weaponized ticks, starting in the 60s.)

Burgdorfer’s research papers also revealed that he force-fed ticks various pathogens (bacteria, viruses) which became part of the microbiome of subsequent generations of ticks. This might have been the first biotech experiment in history. It certainly worked. The intention was to make these ticks much more “effective” so that entire populations of selected humans could theoretically be sickened because their immune systems would not have evolved a defence against this cocktail of pathogens, as Burgdorfer himself explained. Most importantly, these ticks were now known to be carriers of chronic disease with a “special affinity for brain tissue.”

At the time this research was being conducted in the 1960s, the medical community bought into this “national security” project aimed at keeping the West safe from Communism. The obvious fact that infectious diseases cannot be confined geographically, and that any spirochetal disease is sexually transmissible, never crossed those bright minds. One especially harmful result of this politicized medicine became the longstanding war between the Infectious Disease Society (IDSA) and the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS). The IDSA serves government policy, insurance company interests, and vaccine producers’ ambitions faithfully while also hugely benefitting financially from this cooperation. This is not surmise, but heavily documented. ILADS, however, steadfastly works for patients in a clinically responsible and scientifically-based way that enrages and threatens those seeking profit and protecting government priorities.

Modern Lyme Disease Linked to Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Multiple Sclerosis

So the Lyme disease that is circulating today worldwide is no longer the ancient infectious disease found in fossilized dinosaurs 99 million years ago, and which was encountered by Upper Paleolithic deer hunters 50,000 years ago. That old form of borrelia was successfully treated by the earliest antibiotics close to a hundred years ago.

On the other hand, the modern weaponized form of borreliosis can also cause Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Multiple sclerosis, ALS, brain damaged fetuses born to Lyme infected mothers, scleroderma, heart disease, arthritis, heart attacks due to Lyme bacteria in the heart, strokes from Lyme brain, and more. It is by design the ‘Great Deregulator’ of all bodily systems. The Centres for Disease Control estimate that close to half a million new cases occur annually in North America. In fact, Lyme infections are now double of that of cancer.

So the modern borellia bacteria is a human-made biological weapon created in the U.S. Shortly after WWII it had a parallel creation effort in the former Soviet Union. Both projects were the brainchild of a Nazi biological warfare expert, Dr. Erich Traub. He later continued his work at a government laboratory on Plum Island, New York, after he was imported for research purposes during the Eisenhower administration under Operation Paperclip. Current weaponized ticks were created by brilliant minds who, in the excitement of scientific experimentation and the idealism of the day that justified killing or incapacitating Communist populations, lost their ethical compass starting in the 1950s. This was done at U.S. taxpayers’ expense by employees of the National Institutes of Health. By 1966, 57 U.S. universities were working for the top 500 bio-warfare research contractors in the country. In Bitten, the terrible anguish that Willy Burgdorfer experienced in his final years over the horrible situation he had created becomes painfully clear.

Brilliant Minds Tinker with Dangerous Microbes

Those weaponized ticks accidentally escaped from Plum Island, probably on the bodies of migrating birds. Hence, the Ground Zero maps show Lyme outbreaks originating around Long Island Sound, Connecticut, New York State, and then on up into Ontario. Newby calls it “the American Chernobyl.” In 2005, lawyer Michael Carroll published a book called Lab 257: The Disturbing Story of the Government’s Secret Germ Laboratory based on the first available information on that U.S. government laboratory under Dr. Erich Traub, whose successor was Willy Burgdorfer and who was more successful than the Nazis had been.

Burgdorfer’s job included experimenting with the Plague bacteria (Yersinia pestis), which had killed some 50 million people in the 14th century. He was trying to see if the Plague could be become resident in the microbiome of fleas and become transmissible through generations. Fortunately, that failed. Efforts were then made to find ways by which antibiotics could be rendered ineffective. That, too, failed until the age of pesticides and antibiotic overuse did the trick instead. Burgdorfer told Newby that the U.S. government knew that Lyme is chronic: it was designed to be so. The deliberate inclusion of a virus in the cocktail of force-fed pathogens, now part of the tick’s DNA replication process, was done to ensure that there would be no antigen response in an infected person; the virus would prevent that. Hence all those problems with reliable testing.

On the Politics and Treatment of Lyme

Ending Denial - Lyme DiseaseCanada’s cooperation over the decades with this Lyme experiment is well documented in Bitten. My own encounter with that happened in 2009 when I was preparing the book Ending Denial – The Lyme Disease Epidemic, for Canadian readers. On April 22, then NDP Leader Jack Layton wrote in an email that he had approached then Minister of Health, Tony Clement, asking him why there was no proper Lyme test available in Canada. Clement replied that Layton’s request for information was denied “on the basis of national security.” This is officially defined as something “containing information which would reasonably be expected to be injurious to the conduct of international affairs, the defense of Canada, or any state allied or associated with Canada….”

In 2014, thanks to the efforts of federal Green Party leader Elizabeth May, a Bill was passed and unanimously supported by all MPs in the House of Commons, which mandates proper Lyme tests for Canadians and the inclusion of the treatment guidelines of ILADS. Nothing much has happened since then. The national security interest is difficult to dislodge. The mainstream medical profession is still mostly unable to take effective action against Lyme in Canada. Fortunately, naturopaths have found some success with treating Lyme using bio-resonance therapy, which does not require antibiotics. For more details on this, see my earlier article: Success Story: How I Recovered from the Devastating Effects of Lyme Disease, posted at:

The likelihood of Medicare covering treatment for Lyme disease is remote. Ironically, the cost of treating preventable forms of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS, etc. to the national purse does not seem to concern our politicians. However, if you have the money, the know-how, and a mistrust of public health authorities, you are highly likely to find an effective treatment for Lyme – in the U.S., Germany, and India, or with Canadian naturopaths. Science is on our side and excellent tests are available. Just not here.

What hope do we have going forward? Readers will react most likely as I did – with a sick feeling in the pit of their stomachs. However, humanity has survived world wars, plagues, and the Holocaust. While individuals are sacrificed by the millions, the creative spirit remains indestructible and finds solutions and develops insights never dreamed of before. Lyme disease certainly is a human-made disaster just like Chernobyl was, but even there today the birds fly, nest, and reproduce again. Brilliant scientists and dedicated physicians have cured tens of thousands of Lyme victims and continue to do so. I have been cured twice. What does this horrible story say about us? That we are destructive and creative, diabolical and divine, sometimes all at the same time.
