The Sacred Gardener offers intensive, integrated workshops, teaching the skills and deep understanding of traditional environmental knowledge. Workshops focus on wild edibles, herbal medicine, co-creation and permaculture, fermentation and food preservation, and natural building. With all of our workshops, the aim is always the same – to make the Earth come alive for you, so you can come alive for the Earth.

Hosted on a 200-acre heritage farm, with 140-year-old log buildings surrounded by the Algonquin wilderness this area is home to the Algonquin Tea Farm, as well as permaculture gardens, a tropical greenhouse, and a round-stackwall earthship.

Come join us for a unique, life-changing experience. Be immersed in a world you’ve been missing, where people work in harmony with nature to create true culture, where life is honoured from the seed to the table and where the food alone is worth the trip! Camp out on the land, stay in guest houses, or at local B&B.

The primary facilitator at The Sacred Gardener is Steven Martyn M.A, Hon. B.F.A. Steven has more than 30 years experience practising traditional living skills of growing food, building and healing. Steven co-created “Livingstone & Green-bloom” (Toronto’s first “green” landscaping company in 1989), and the Algonquin Tea Company in 1996. Upcoming workshops:
