It’s March. Several weeks have passed since those heartfelt New Year’s resolutions were made and we may now find ourselves back where we started. We were going to lose weight. Ayurveda for Weight Loss is Dr. John Douillard’s solution to such a problem. Douillard, D.C., Ph.D. has authored such books as The 3-Season Diet, Perfect Health for Kids, The Encyclopedia of Ayurvedic Massage and Body, Mind, and Sport. Having received his Ayurvedic training in India, he co-directed Deepak Copra’s Ayurvedic center for eight years. Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine originating from the Subcontinent. Today, it is practised all over the world as a form of alternative medicine and is currently the most influential system of medicine in South Asia. It literally means “the science of life.” For us in the Western world, it is known for its use of herbs, massage and Yoga as exercise.
